News : Computer glitch may cost OnTrack 10% of budget
A computer glitch in Washington could mean more residents in Western North Carolina will face foreclosure on their homes without help from financial experts.
OnTrack Financial Education and Counseling has been denied a $135,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development — an annual grant that the nonprofit has counted on since 1979 as part of a $1 million budget to serve residents in 18 WNC counties with free financial counseling.
Collins still hopes the funding fiasco can be cleared up in a conference call with HUD officials scheduled for this morning.
