News : "Facebook" E-mail Contains Virus
Posted by admin on 2008/8/8 11:03:26 (175 reads)

The popular social networking site Facebook has been in the news a lot lately. You find an e-mail in your queue mentioning '' FBI vs. Facebook.'' You open it up and your personal information is exposed to criminals.

The link actually opens up ''malware'' that downloads to your computer, infecting it with the Storm Worm botnet, according to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). A botnet is a network of compromised machines under the control of a single user. Botnets are typically used to send spam e-mail, steal identities, create denial of service attacks and spread malware to other machines on the Internet, IC3 says.
